System Engineer

The System Engineer is responsible for developing cost-effective, client-side technology solutions to support the functional, technical and management needs of Mionos customers. The System Engineer will design, install, and configure server infrastructures; plan and implement enterprise technology infrastructures; design network security; and develop operational solutions to manage Microsoft and multi-vendor environments.

Responsibilities

• Handling day-to-day management of the Windows Server 2003 environment
• Supporting a wide range of technologies, and providing top-level support
• Supporting an Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server environment
• Enhancing the networking environment for customers' main office and branch offices using Microsoft best practices
• Setting up a wide variety of systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals
• Guiding customers' Network Administrators in their day-to-day support tasks
• Setting up and managing Mionos software and Mionos-configured server systems

Technical Capability

• 2 years of experience in a Windows Server/Active Directory environment
• Level 3 troubleshooting skills on a wide range of hardware, software, and technologies (both local and remote)
• Experience with Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Pro, MS Office 2003, and Cisco VPN client
• Expert skills in a wide range of technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, WINS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSL, FTP, WSUS, RSA, Exchange 2003, MS Clustering, Wide Area File Sharing, batch scripting, imaging, and back-up systems
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server system administration

Minimum Requirements

• Demonstrated project experience with regard to estimates, planning and deliverables
• Demonstrated the ability to understand a customer's needs
• Developed technical requirements based on business imperatives
• A willingness to travel
• A University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related area
